PFLANZEN
The plants were photographed in very different places such as California, the Alps, the Spanish islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, the islands of Milos or Crete. Despite the different locations of the plants, all their habitats have in common that intense geological activity takes place there.
The work is initially about two visual phenomena that are closely linked to the nature of the plants. One is light & colour and the other is their fantastic richness of detail. We are not always aware that plants are the only original creatures that convert solar energy into all the life on our planet. This real and surreal, close, universal, original, forward-looking and life-creating essence of plants is what inspires my work and what the project tries to make visible.
There is also a symmetry for me in my technical interventions through artificial and coloured light to the essence of plants: the essence of technology is equally real-surreal, close, universal, original and forward-looking. Some thoughts are inspired by the fantastic and instructive book »The Roots of the World: A Philosophy of Plants« by Emmanuel Coccia.

PFLANZEN
The plants are photographed in places as diverse as California, the Alps, the Spanish islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and the islands of Milos and Crete. There is a certain commonality between the places in that intense geological activity is taking place there.
The work is first about two visual phenomena that are closely related to the nature of plants: Light and colour. As well as making their fantastic richness of detail visible, as well as their shaping of landscape and environment, which makes them life and atmosphere producing beings for us and the planet. We are not always aware that plants are the only original beings that transform solar energy into all life on our planet. This real - surreal, near, universal, original and future pointing space and life creating being of plants, is what the work tries to make appear.
There is also a symmetry for me in my technical interventions through artificial and coloured light to the essence of plants: the essence of technology is equally real-surreal, close, universal, original and pointing to the future.(Some thoughts are inspired by the fantastic and instructive book "The Roots of the World: A Philosophy of Plants" by Emmanuel Coccia.
